Never 50/50 an objective against Nunu — his Q deals up to 1200 true damage to monsters, making him nearly unbeatable in smite fights. Take objectives only when he's dead or on the other side of the map.
Late Game Skirmish
Ward dragon consistently from level 4 onwards — Nunu can easily solo dragon at this point. Place control wards and maintain vision on objectives to prevent sneaky takes.
Basic Lane Phase
Save one CC ability to interrupt Nunu's ultimate — his R deals massive damage (up to 1275 + 300% AP at rank 3) when fully channeled, but any hard CC will cancel it completely.
Team Fight
Maintain distance between teammates during fights — Nunu's W and R are area-of-effect abilities that can hit your entire team if grouped. Spread out to minimize their impact.

Engage Nunu away from jungle camps — his Q heals him significantly when used on monsters. Fight in the river or lanes where he can't use this advantage.

Ward your lane flanks against surprise snowballs — Nunu's W has medium-to-long range and can be used to engage from unexpected angles. Proper vision will help you spot these approaches.

Nunu's W (Snowball) cleanses slows and makes him slow-immune while channeling, but it can still be interrupted by other forms of crowd control.
Advanced Skirmish
Look to fight when Nunu's W is on cooldown — this 14-second cooldown ability is his primary engage and mobility tool. When it's down, he's much more vulnerable to being engaged upon.
