When Amumu hits level 6, be ready to follow up on his ganks. His ultimate stuns enemies for 1.5 seconds in a short-medium area, creating a perfect opportunity for follow-up damage.
Basic Lane Phase
Amumu's passive causes enemies to take 10% more magic damage when hit by his basic attacks or ultimate. If you deal magic damage, focus these cursed targets to maximize your team's damage output.
Basic Team Fight
When Amumu lands a Q (Bandage Toss), wait for him to follow up with his other abilities before using your crowd control. This prevents overlap and maximizes the duration enemies are disabled.
Skirmish
If you have AoE damage or crowd control abilities, time them to follow Amumu's ultimate for devastating combos. Area damage abilities are particularly effective when enemies are grouped and stunned.
Team Fight
When playing a lane with priority before level 6, help Amumu secure scuttle crabs and contest key jungle camps. His early game is weak, and assistance can prevent him from falling behind.
Basic Lane Phase
When Amumu's ultimate is on cooldown (150/125/100 seconds), focus on smaller skirmishes rather than full 5v5 engagements. Without his ultimate, Amumu's teamfighting impact is significantly reduced.
Team Fight
After winning a teamfight with Amumu's ultimate, immediately push for objectives like Dragon or Baron. His ultimate's long cooldown creates a window where the enemy will have an advantage in the next fight.
Late Game
When fighting in the jungle or tight corridors, wait for Amumu to engage rather than starting fights yourself. These enclosed spaces maximize his ultimate's effectiveness as enemies have limited room to spread out.
Advanced Team Fight
If Amumu misses his Q (Bandage Toss), immediately back off and reset rather than continuing the engagement. He loses his gap-closer and becomes vulnerable until it recharges.
Advanced Skirmish
Amumu struggles against disengage and poke compositions. If your champion has engage tools, coordinate with Amumu to create multi-angle threats that prevent the enemy from focusing all their disengage tools on him alone.
