When Thresh throws his lantern (W), click on it to dash to his position. This unique mobility tool can save you from dangerous situations, help you engage unexpectedly, or cross terrain that would otherwise require Flash.
Basic Team Fight Skirmish
Position aggressively when Thresh is looking to hook. When he lands a Q, immediately unload your damage abilities on the target during the 1.5-second stun window before they can use mobility or defensive abilities.
Skirmish Team Fight
Thresh has one of the strongest level 2 power spikes in the game. Be ready to engage aggressively when he reaches level 2 first in the bottom lane (after the first wave plus 3 melee minions).
Lane Phase
When Thresh uses his ultimate (R), enemies who touch the walls are slowed by 99% for 2 seconds. Use this opportunity to land easy skill shots or follow up with additional crowd control.
Team Fight
As a jungler, coordinate ganks with Thresh where you position behind the enemy while Thresh throws his lantern (W) toward you. Click the lantern to surprise enemies from an unexpected angle.
Advanced Skirmish Lane Phase
Hold your crowd control abilities until after Thresh uses Flay (E). His knockback can interrupt dashes and channeled abilities, and using your CC afterward extends the disable duration rather than overlapping effects.
Advanced Skirmish Team Fight
When Thresh buys Mobility Boots, expect him to roam. If you're in a solo lane, play more conservatively when he's missing, and be ready to follow up when he appears in your lane.
Lane Phase
Enemies can stand on top of Thresh's lantern or place wards on it to make it harder to click. When this happens, zoom in your camera or use the attack-move command near the lantern to grab it more easily.
Advanced Skirmish
Before contesting objectives (15-25 minutes), wait for Thresh to establish vision control. His hook (Q) and lantern (W) combination allows him to safely check dangerous areas and extract allies if enemies appear.
Skirmish
When Thresh reaches level 6, time your all-ins with his ultimate. Enemies will be nearly immobilized when they hit the walls, guaranteeing follow-up damage and abilities.
