When Illaoi lands her E (Test of Spirit), immediately focus the tethered target — this creates a 2v1 where the enemy either stays and eats damage from both of you, or leaves the tether range and gets hit with an 80% slow as a Vessel.

Save crowd control for when Illaoi casts her R — it gives her displacement immunity during the leap and makes every summoned Tentacle untargetable and faster-attacking, so locking enemies inside the zone lets her Tentacles shred them before they can escape.

Time ganks and roams around Illaoi's level 6 — before she has her R she struggles to punish all-ins, but once it's up she can turn a gank into a double kill with her Tentacles.
