Pay attention to Aphelios's current weapons shown above his health bar. Each weapon has unique strengths: Calibrum (green) has range, Severum (red) provides healing, Gravitum (purple) offers CC, Infernum (blue) deals AoE damage, and Crescendum (white) has high single-target damage.
Basic Lane Phase Team Fight
When Aphelios has Infernum (blue flamethrower) during teamfights, try to clump enemies together. His Infernum ultimate can devastate grouped opponents with its splash damage, potentially turning teamfights instantly.
Team Fight
When Aphelios has Gravitum (purple cannon), look for engage opportunities. After he lands a few auto-attacks to apply slows, his Q ability can root multiple enemies, creating perfect follow-up for your engage or abilities.
Skirmish Lane Phase
Provide extra protection when Aphelios's ammo meter turns red, signaling a weapon transition. During the 1-second switch, he cannot swap weapons and is particularly vulnerable to all-ins and assassins.
Lane Phase Skirmish
After Aphelios uses his ultimate, play more defensively for about 2 minutes until it's available again. His ultimate provides major utility and damage, and enemies often look to fight when it's on cooldown.
Team Fight Late Game
Aphelios is item-dependent and hits a major power spike when completing his first Mythic item. Before this point, he may struggle in extended fights, so focus on helping him farm safely during the early game.
