When Bard leaves lane to collect chimes, play more cautiously as the ADC. This roaming pattern is core to Bard's design, not poor support play. He gains movement speed, mana restoration, and empowered attacks from collecting chimes, making his roams beneficial for the entire team.
Basic Lane Phase
Position your skillshots or area damage abilities where enemies are frozen by Bard's R. Tempered Fate lasts exactly 2.5 seconds, giving you perfect timing to land crucial abilities the moment it ends for guaranteed hits.
Team Fight Skirmish
Be ready to immediately take Bard's Magical Journeys (E) through terrain. Allies travel 33% faster than enemies through these tunnels, creating opportunities for surprise ganks or escapes that opponents cannot match in speed.
Skirmish
Coordinate with Bard to use his R on enemy junglers during Baron or Dragon fights. Tempered Fate will stall the enemy smite for 2.5 seconds, giving your team time to secure objectives safely without contest.
Late Game
Bard aims to reach level 2 before opponents for all-in opportunities with his Q. Be ready to follow up with damage when Bard lands a stun, especially if the enemy is pinned against terrain or another unit for the double stun effect.
Lane Phase
Look for Bard's Caretaker's Shrines (W) placed along roaming paths. Fully charged shrines (after 5 seconds) provide maximum healing and movement speed, making them valuable for health recovery and faster rotations to objectives or fights.
Basic Skirmish
During tower dives, communicate with Bard about using his R on enemy turrets. This disables the turret for 2.5 seconds, allowing for safer dives when coordinated properly, especially at early levels when turrets are deadly.
Advanced Lane Phase Skirmish
When being chased, position near walls where Bard can create Magical Journeys (E). This provides escape routes even when normal paths are cut off, and the 33% speed boost for allies creates distance from pursuing enemies.
Skirmish
Bard becomes stronger as he collects chimes. At 5 chimes his Meeps slow enemies, at 15 chimes they deal AoE damage, and at 35 chimes the AoE increases. Be more willing to take fights when Bard has reached these power thresholds.
