When Sion uses his R, listen for the global roar sound that all players can hear regardless of where he is on the map. This audio cue gives you time to prepare for potential ganks or team engages.
Basic Team Fight Skirmish
Position yourself to follow up when Sion lands a fully charged Q. The long stun duration (up to 2.25 seconds) creates an excellent window for landing your own abilities without fear of enemy retaliation.
Team Fight Skirmish
After Sion dies, don't immediately retreat if the fight is close. His passive allows him to continue dealing significant damage while being untargetable for several seconds, creating space for you to follow up or disengage safely.

Place Control Wards in lane bushes when playing with Sion. This denies enemy vision, allowing him to charge his Q unseen for maximum stun duration and damage, making ganks and engages much more effective.

Against teams with high mobility, position yourself to block escape routes when Sion engages. This prevents enemies from easily kiting him and helps him land his full damage combo.

In late game team fights, coordinate with Sion to focus on peeling threats closest to your carries rather than having him dive the enemy backline. This protects your damage dealers while maximizing Sion's CC potential.

When Sion uses his E to knock back minions through enemies, position to capitalize on this unexpected poke by following up with your own abilities. This creates pressure and can set up kills against slowed opponents.
