Lucian has a powerful level 2 power spike with his Q+E combo. Be ready to follow up with your own abilities when he hits level 2, especially if you have crowd control or additional damage to secure an early advantage.
Basic Lane Phase
When playing champions with immobilizing abilities (stuns, roots, etc.), use them on enemies within 1000 units of Lucian to trigger his Vigilance passive, empowering his next shots with bonus magic damage.
Skirmish Team Fight
When playing a support with shields or heals, prioritize using these abilities on Lucian to trigger his Vigilance passive, granting him empowered attacks that deal bonus magic damage. This is especially valuable before trades or all-ins.
Basic Lane Phase Skirmish
Attack enemies marked by Lucian's W ability (Ardent Blaze), as this grants him movement speed and triggers his Vigilance passive, both of which significantly increase his combat effectiveness.
Skirmish Team Fight
When Lucian channels his ultimate (The Culling), position between him and enemies to block skillshots and provide peel. He can move but cannot auto attack during this channel, making him vulnerable to engage.
Team Fight Skirmish
Engage with Lucian when his E (Relentless Pursuit) is available but play defensively when it's on cooldown. Without his dash, Lucian is much more vulnerable to ganks and all-ins.
Lane Phase Skirmish
At level 6, coordinate all-in attempts with Lucian's ultimate (The Culling). This high-damage ability works best when enemies are crowd controlled or slowed, preventing them from simply walking away from the barrage.
