When Zed lands his R (Death Mark), add your own damage or crowd control to the marked target during the next 3 seconds — Death Mark stores a portion of all damage dealt to that target during this window and detonates it at the end, so your follow-up directly increases the burst.
Basic Team Fight Skirmish
Zed's kill pressure spikes hard at level 6 once Death Mark comes online — expect him to look for all-ins on squishy targets he's already poked down, and be ready to add damage or crowd control if you're nearby.
Basic Lane Phase
If you drop an enemy below 50% health, look for Zed to follow up — his passive empowers his next basic attack on that target for bonus magic damage based on their max health, making him excellent at finishing off low-health targets.
Lane Phase Skirmish
In team fights, engage the enemy frontline to draw attention away from Zed — his assassination style depends on reaching priority targets from unexpected angles rather than fighting head-on.
Team Fight
Once Zed uses his W (Living Shadow) offensively, he has no mobility left until it comes off its very long cooldown — this is when he's most exposed to being punished or caught out.
Lane Phase
Watch for a spinning shuriken icon appearing above an enemy during Zed's Death Mark — it means his stored damage is predicted to kill them, though shields or other damage reduction can still save the target, so don't assume the kill is guaranteed.
Advanced Skirmish Team Fight
Zed's assassination potential drops off in late-game team fights once enemies build defensive items — don't rely on him as your primary damage source in extended fights after this point.
