When Nocturne uses his R, all enemies have severely limited vision for 6 seconds, even before he dashes to a target. Use this window to engage on enemies as they'll struggle to see your approach and may make positioning mistakes.
Basic Team Fight Skirmish
Set up kill opportunities when Nocturne reaches level 6 by preparing crowd control or baiting enemies to overextend. His ganking power increases dramatically with his R, transforming him from a farming jungler to a lethal ganker.
Basic Lane Phase
When Nocturne has his R available, create pressure on opposite sides of the map. This forces enemies to separate, creating isolated targets for Nocturne's assassination rather than staying grouped where he struggles.
Late Game Team Fight
When Nocturne lands his E tether, wait until the fear effect triggers before using your own crowd control. This creates a longer chain of CC and prevents overlap, maximizing the time enemies cannot fight back.
Skirmish Team Fight
Nocturne gains movement speed and attack damage when moving along the dark trail from his Q. Position to follow up when he hits enemies with this ability as he'll likely chase along this path for increased damage.

In late-game team fights, protect Nocturne after his initial dive. He's vulnerable after engaging and will often need to fall back after his burst, as he gets easily killed if caught by crowd control.

Place Control Wards in the enemy jungle when Nocturne's R is available. Denying enemy vision creates more opportunities for successful ultimate ganks on isolated targets who can't see him coming.
