When Anivia's ultimate (R) is fully formed, focus your damage on enemies caught inside it. Enemies in the storm are slowed, take significantly more damage, and are "Chilled," making them vulnerable to Anivia's doubled E damage.
Team Fight Skirmish
When playing jungle, prioritize giving blue buff to Anivia after the first one. She is extremely mana-hungry and needs consistent mana regeneration to maintain her ultimate for waveclear, zone control, and sustained damage in fights.
Basic Lane Phase Team Fight
When Anivia uses her W (wall), immediately engage on enemies who get separated from their team. The wall creates impassable terrain for 5 seconds, giving you a perfect opportunity to focus isolated targets.
Team Fight Skirmish
After Anivia lands her Q stun (1.1-1.5 seconds duration), follow up with your own crowd control abilities. This creates longer CC chains, giving your team more time to secure kills on immobile targets.
Skirmish Team Fight
Pre-level 6, Anivia has minimal threat and waveclear in lane. She becomes significantly stronger at level 6 with her ultimate, which provides consistent area damage and slows. Adjust your expectations and play accordingly during these different phases.
Basic Lane Phase
When Anivia's passive (egg form) is triggered, don't immediately retreat. Stay nearby to protect her during the 6-second resurrection, as enemies will often try to finish her off during this vulnerable period.
Skirmish Team Fight
When sieging towers with Anivia, let her clear minion waves with her ultimate while you zone enemies away. Her wall can also block enemy engage paths, making her an excellent champion for methodical sieges.
Late Game
When enemies are trying to escape through jungle paths, ping Anivia to place her wall (W) to cut off their route. The wall blocks narrow corridors completely, often forcing enemies to use Flash or take longer paths.
Skirmish Team Fight
At objectives like Dragon and Baron, work with Anivia to create advantageous fight locations. Her wall and ultimate can funnel enemies through choke points, making them easier to hit with skillshots and area abilities.
Advanced Team Fight
Anivia's passive (egg form) has a 240-second cooldown. Track this cooldown window and play more defensively around her when her passive is unavailable, as she becomes significantly more vulnerable without this second life.
