When facing tanky opponents, wait for Trundle to use his R (Subjugate) before committing your damage. This steals 40% of the target's armor and magic resistance, making your damage significantly more effective.
Team Fight
Respond quickly when Trundle pings dragon or herald. His W (Frozen Domain) and passive healing allow him to secure objectives efficiently, but he needs teammates nearby to deter enemy contest.
Basic Lane Phase
When Trundle places his E (Pillar of Ice), enemies are briefly knocked back and slowed. Time your skillshots just after his pillar appears to maximize your chance of hitting disrupted enemies.
Skirmish Team Fight
When Trundle is approaching to gank your lane, position yourself between the enemy and their tower. This makes it easier for him to place his E (Pillar of Ice) to cut off their escape route.
Basic Lane Phase
In team fights where Trundle has used R (Subjugate) on an enemy tank, position behind him to safely deal damage. The stolen stats make him surprisingly durable while enemies are slowed by his pillar.

When Trundle reaches level 6, he gains significant dueling power through his R (Subjugate). Be ready to follow up on his aggression in river skirmishes and jungle invades during this power spike.

In late game fights, position near Trundle if you're a high-priority carry. His E (Pillar of Ice) and Q (Chomp) can significantly reduce the mobility and damage of enemies diving your backline.
Late Game Team Fight
Trundle's E (Pillar of Ice) briefly displaces enemies before slowing them. Save your crowd control abilities for immediately after his pillar to create longer disable chains rather than overlapping CC.
