When Varus uses his R (Chain of Corruption), follow up with your own crowd control or damage abilities. His root lasts 2 seconds and can spread to nearby enemies, creating perfect opportunities for area damage abilities.
Team Fight
Position between Varus and enemy divers during team fights, as he lacks mobility and is vulnerable to all-ins. Save your crowd control abilities to protect him from assassins when threats to Varus are present.
Basic Team Fight
When Varus places his E (Hail of Arrows), try to keep fighting within this area, especially against healing champions. The zone applies Grievous Wounds and a slow for 4 seconds, making it harder for enemies to escape or sustain.
Team Fight Skirmish
Before engaging in team fights, give Varus time to poke enemies with his Q (Piercing Arrow). This long-range ability can significantly reduce opponents' health before the fight begins, creating an advantage.

Varus gains cooldown reduction when he detonates Blight stacks (applied by his basic attacks) with his abilities. In extended fights, his damage and ability uptime increase dramatically when he can apply and detonate multiple stacks.
