Spread out in team fights — grouping closely lets Galio knock up your entire team with his R and follow up with a fully charged W taunt.
Basic Team Fight
Disengage quickly when Galio uses his E toward you — if he connects, he'll immediately follow with his W taunt. Use mobility spells to create distance before he can land his full combo.
Lane Phase Skirmish
If you have crowd control, use it during the first portion of Galio's R channel — this is the only window to stop his ultimate before he becomes untargetable.
Team Fight
Ping missing immediately when Galio leaves lane after level 6 — his R has a super long range and lets him join fights in other lanes within seconds.
Basic Lane Phase
Keep Galio pushed under tower to limit his roaming — after completing his first item, he can clear waves quickly with his Q and roam. Matching his waveclear forces him to stay in lane.

Trade when his W is on cooldown — without it, he has no taunt and loses both his primary CC and his damage reduction, creating a significant vulnerability window.
