Look to engage directly on Xerath after he misses his E (stun) — he has no mobility spells to escape and is extremely vulnerable to all-ins.
Basic Lane Phase Skirmish
Track Xerath's W and E cooldowns (10-14s and 11-13s) — these are his only defensive options and create a clear window to engage when they're down.
Lane Phase
Approach Xerath from the side or behind during teamfights rather than from the front — his abilities are all directional, making him vulnerable to multi-angle attacks.
Team Fight
Stay to the side of your minion wave rather than behind it when laning against Xerath — this forces him to choose between hitting you or waveclearing with his Q.
Basic Lane Phase
When Xerath begins charging his Q, move perpendicular to his facing direction — the 1.5 second charge time makes the ability more predictable despite its long range.
Lane Phase Team Fight
Save a crowd control ability to interrupt Xerath's ultimate channel — stopping his R cancels all remaining shots and puts it on a long cooldown.
