Avoid fighting Olaf at levels 1-2 — his Q and passive make him exceptionally strong in early trades, and he will likely win extended fights if he lands multiple axes.
Basic Lane Phase
Stay away from Olaf's axe when it lands — preventing him from picking it up increases its cooldown from 2.5 seconds to 9 seconds, severely limiting his damage and slow potential.

Keep the minion wave closer to your tower — this reduces Olaf's ability to chase you down with repeated Q slows since he has less lane distance to work with.
