Engage Gwen when she has few or no Q stacks (visible below her health bar) — her damage output is significantly reduced without stacks, making trades much more favorable for you.

Back away when Gwen activates her W and re-engage when it expires — she gains bonus defenses inside the mist and becomes untargetable to champions outside it.

Keep trades with Gwen brief — her passive healing and Q stacking mechanics make her stronger in prolonged fights, especially after completing items.
