Hwei's passive creates an explosion beneath marked enemies after a short delay. Time your follow-up damage or crowd control to coincide with these explosions for maximum burst in team fights.
Basic Team Fight Skirmish
Look to gank or skirmish with Hwei when he reaches level 3 and 6, as these are significant power spikes. At level 3, he has access to all his basic abilities, and at level 6, his ultimate provides additional combo potential.
Lane Phase
In team fights, use your crowd control abilities to group enemies together. Hwei's AOE abilities are most effective when enemies are clustered, allowing him to mark and damage multiple targets simultaneously.
Team Fight
Be ready to immediately follow up when Hwei lands his crowd control abilities. His CC creates prime opportunities for your team to engage or pick off isolated targets.
Skirmish Team Fight
When Hwei applies pressure in a side lane during mid-game, place deep wards in enemy jungle entrances. His lack of mobility makes him vulnerable to flanks and assassinations when isolated.
Lane Phase Late Game
Prioritize fighting around objectives when Hwei is with your team. His AOE abilities and CC make him particularly effective in the confined spaces around Baron and Dragon pits.
Team Fight Late Game
In team fights, dedicate some of your defensive abilities to peeling for Hwei. His consistent AOE damage is crucial, but he lacks escape tools when focused by enemy divers or assassins.
Advanced Team Fight Late Game
In the late game, Hwei needs to stay with the team due to his low mobility. Avoid splitting up if possible and coordinate movements to prevent him from getting isolated and picked off.
Basic Late Game
When Hwei reaches level 9, he maxes his first ability and gains a significant damage increase. This is an excellent time to contest objectives or force team fights.
Team Fight Skirmish
Place Control Wards in key areas when playing with Hwei, especially in river and jungle entrances. Unlike Stealth Wards, Control Wards remain visible but provide crucial vision that helps protect Hwei from ganks and ambushes.
