When Yone activates his E (Soul Unbound), he has exactly 5 seconds to deal damage before returning to his body. Advance with him during this window to capitalize on his temporary movement speed bonus, but be prepared to continue fighting after he returns.
Skirmish
When Yone has his third Q ready (indicated by the swirling wind effect around him), look to gank his lane. His dash and knockup provide guaranteed CC for 0.75 seconds, creating an excellent window for follow-up damage.
Lane Phase
Always note the position of Yone's body when he uses E. Position yourself to counter-engage if enemies try to collapse on his return location, as this is when he's most vulnerable.
Advanced Skirmish
Yone's R first knocks down and then knocks up enemies in a line. Hold your area-of-effect abilities until after his ultimate connects to maximize damage on grouped targets.
Team Fight
During the first 15 minutes, Yone struggles against ranged matchups and heavy poke. As a jungler, prioritize early visits to his lane, especially when his third Q is available for knockup.
Basic Lane Phase
After 25 minutes, Yone excels at finding flanks to assassinate high-priority targets. Place deep wards in enemy jungle quadrants to enable his flanking routes and create pick opportunities.
Late Game
Yone excels at approaching fights from unexpected angles. Before major objectives, coordinate with him to execute pincer attacks where he engages from one direction while the team approaches from another.
Team Fight Late Game
Yone's R has a relatively narrow hitbox (225 width) and can be difficult to land on moving targets. Use your own CC abilities first to make his ultimate more likely to connect with multiple enemies.
Advanced Team Fight
Yone deals physical, magic, and true damage through his kit, making him effective against any defensive build. When paired with him, consider picking champions that provide utility rather than focusing solely on damage type.
Basic Team Fight
Yone's W provides a shield when it hits champions, increasing with each champion hit. Engage after he lands this ability on multiple enemies to take advantage of his temporary durability.
