When Kayn uses his E (Shadow Step) to walk through walls, he can engage from unexpected angles — position to follow up rather than initiating yourself, and be ready with immediate damage or crowd control when he appears through terrain.
Basic Lane Phase Skirmish
Kayn transforms into Shadow Assassin (Blue), built to burst down squishy backline targets, or Darkin (Red), a tankier bruiser who can front-line — adjust your engage timing and target priority based on which form he's taken.
Basic Team Fight Skirmish
While Kayn's R (Umbral Trespass) has him attached to an enemy champion, he's untargetable — avoid wasting targeted abilities on his target during this window and be ready to burst them down together the instant he detaches.

If Kayn is Darkin (Red), his W knocks up everyone it hits for a full second — hold your own crowd control until the knockup ends instead of using it at the same time, so you extend the total disable duration.
