When Sylas is at low health during a skirmish, don't retreat immediately. His W (Kingslayer) heals him for significantly more when he's at low health, often allowing him to turn fights that look lost.
Basic Skirmish Team Fight
After Sylas casts his E (chain throw) and stuns an enemy, delay your own crowd control abilities until his combo finishes. His E applies both a stun and knockup in sequence, so layering your CC afterward maximizes the total disable duration.

Sylas reaches major power spikes at level 3 (all basic abilities) and level 6 (access to enemy ultimates). Coordinate ganks and skirmishes around these levels to maximize your team's fighting potential.

Sylas's Q provides both a slow and delayed explosion damage, creating a zone that enemies must respect. Position yourself to capitalize on enemies who are slowed or forced to move in predictable directions.

In mid to late game, Sylas can effectively split push and potentially win 1v1s with his sustain and mobility. Use this pressure to secure objectives on the opposite side of the map when appropriate.
