Help Jax survive the early game with well-timed ganks. He struggles in the first levels but scales exceptionally well, so preventing him from falling behind during his weakest phase is crucial for his late-game impact.
Basic Lane Phase
Coordinate ganks and skirmishes when Jax's E (Counter Strike) is available. This ability provides a crucial AoE stun that can turn fights in your favor, but has a long cooldown early game (17-9 seconds).
Lane Phase Skirmish
Support Jax's split pushing with deep vision in the enemy jungle near his lane. His Q (Leap Strike) gives him escape potential, but he needs advance warning of multiple enemies coming to stop him.
Late Game
When Jax initiates with his Q-E combo, immediately follow up with your damage and crowd control. He becomes vulnerable if the team doesn't capitalize on his engagement, as he can be focused down quickly.
Team Fight Skirmish
During skirmishes, if you see Jax repeatedly auto-attacking, he's stacking his passive for increased attack speed. Extend these fights rather than disengaging, as his damage ramps up significantly after several attacks.
Skirmish Team Fight
After Jax lands his E stun, apply your crowd control abilities sequentially rather than simultaneously. This maximizes the total disable duration and prevents enemies from escaping his reach.
Team Fight Skirmish
When Jax is drawing attention in a side lane, secure objectives on the opposite side of the map. His strong dueling potential often requires multiple enemies to stop him, creating opportunities elsewhere.
Late Game
Level 9 is a significant power spike for Jax as he typically maxes his W (Empower) at this point. The ability cooldown drops to 3 seconds, making him much stronger in extended fights.
Basic Skirmish
When Jax activates his ultimate in team fights, he gains significant bonus armor and magic resistance based on how many champions he hits. This is an excellent time to engage alongside him as he's at his most durable.
