Prioritize keeping Ryze's lane safe instead of forcing 2v2 skirmishes early — he is extremely weak before his first completed item and needs uncontested farm to reach his mid-to-late game power spikes.
Basic Lane Phase
Time ganks or follow-up crowd control for right after Ryze's E lands — it marks the target with Flux for 4 seconds, which turns his W from a 40% slow into a full 1.25-second root.
Lane Phase Skirmish
Give Ryze room to close distance before fights — his W and E only reach short range, so he needs to walk in closer than most mages to land his full combo.
Team Fight Skirmish
When Ryze's R is available, stay ready to group with him for objective plays or flanks — Realm Warp blinks him and nearby allies to a marked location across a huge range, letting your team relocate quickly.
